Chinese Academy of Sciences releases guide to the additional election of academicians in 2025

On the 25th, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the 2025 guide to the additional election of academicians.

Guidelines for the additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2025

The academician system is an important system established by the Party and the state to establish a orientation of respecting knowledge and talent, and to gather outstanding talents to serve the country. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as an academician) is the highest academic title in science and technology established by the state.

In order to do a good job in the election of academicians in 2025, the "Guidelines for the election of academicians in the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2025" will be formulated in accordance with the spirit of deepening the reform of the academician system and relevant regulations.

(VII) Specially recommended areas

The quota of no more than 8 people will be arranged separately.

In 2025, the number of additional academicians will not exceed 100.

  1. Candidate Qualification Conditions

According to the "Implementation Measures for the Additional Election of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Trial)", academician candidates should be Chinese citizens who meet the following basic conditions.

  1. Abide by the Constitution and laws, love the motherland, have good character and a righteous academic style.
  2. He is engaged in research in natural science, technical science and engineering science, and has achieved important systematic and creative achievements in the field of science and technology, and has made outstanding contributions to China's scientific and technological undertakings or the progress of human civilization .

Third, recommendation principle

Recommended candidates should adhere to the principle of taking significant contributions, academic level, and moral ethics as the criteria, strengthen the value orientation of meeting the strategic needs of national development and security and making contributions, pay attention to the balanced development between fields and disciplines, and focus on recommending scientific researchers who have been working on the front line of scientific research for a long time. Resolutely break the "four onlys", break the seniority rating, and do not base on the "hat" of talents.
