Hu Xijin joined Morgan Stanley as vice chairman of China? It turns out that the software translated the name wrongly

This morning, a screenshot of Morgan Stanley appointing Hu Xijin as vice chairman of China was circulated on social media.

After verification by International Finance News, it was found that this screenshot was caused by machine translation errors from foreign media reports. The actual appointment target was James Hu, a senior investment banker, and had nothing to do with well-known media person Hu Xijin.

Chu Yin, who is certified as an international expert in Toutiao, posted that the rumors originated from a machine translation error reported by Bloomberg: "James Hu was appointed as vice chairman by Morgan Stanley, but the Chinese translation system may have linked the 'James Hu' error as 'Hu Xijin' due to the lexicon problem."

He joked, "Machine translation is so unreliable, and it probably scared Lao Hu."
