Recently, Liu Yuanyuan dragged her suitcase and rushed to the college student innovation and entrepreneurship park in Xiangjiang New District, Hunan, and signed the incubator settlement agreement - Changsha Shanling Zhihe Biotechnology Co., Ltd. officially set sail.

During his PhD at China Agricultural University, Liu Yuanyuan has been studying high-throughput targeted sequencing technology. Conventional methods have limited number of pathogens detected in a single time, and it is impossible to detect pathogen mutations in a timely manner, and it is impossible to identify various complex situations such as unknown pathogens, pathogen mutants, and mixed infections. So, Liu Yuanyuan decided to apply advanced technology in the laboratory to the veterinary industry to "solve the pain points in the real world." Its team has developed seven series of testing products, including rumination, poultry, aquatic products, and drug-resistant genes. 41 domestic farms have adopted its testing solutions.

Liu Yuanyuan's dream of entrepreneurship is gradually emerging, but practical problems such as how to get funds and how to build a company are in front of us.

The turning point occurred in 2024. Liu Yuanyuan signed up for the "Gold Win 2025" competition with encouragement from his family. In the program, she was selected as the most promising "Golden Seed" in the biomedical track. The "Multi-pathogenic High-throughput Targeted Sequencing Detection Technology" project she studied was favored by many entrepreneurs and investment institutions, and received 1 million yuan in funding from Hunan University Student Venture Capital Fund.

In the March "Gold 2025" program, there were five entrepreneurs who broke through the siege, who won the favor and investment of Hunan University Student Venture Capital Fund like Liu Yuanyuan.

This TV program launched by Hunan Satellite TV, focusing on the entrepreneurship of contemporary college students, is supported by Hunan Province's finance, education, human resources and social security, science and technology, and the Provincial Youth League Committee. In January this year, Hunan Provincial Party Secretary Shen Xiaoming conducted a special investigation into the creation and recording of "Gold-winning 2025", emphasizing the need to run a good program and encourage more college students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship.

In recent years, the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have placed the promotion of employment and entrepreneurship for college students in an important position, better promote innovation and entrepreneurship for college students and high-quality full employment, and have set up a special working group. The main leaders of the Provincial Party Committee personally took charge and insisted on regular dispatch.

At the "Media Open Day" of the Hunan delegation at this year's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shen Xiaoming expressed his opinion: "College students from all over the country are welcome to come to Hunan to start their own businesses."

On March 12, Hunan Province held a press conference to launch the first "Golden Seed Cup" College Student Entrepreneurship Competition, welcome college students from all over the country and even the world to participate, and make Hunan a fertile ground for more entrepreneurial "Golden Seeds" to take root and germinate and grow vigorously.

The next day, Shen Xiaoming presided over a research seminar on promoting employment and entrepreneurship of college students, and listened to speeches by representatives of relevant departments, schools, students and enterprises. 21-year-old Ji Haotian is one of the entrepreneurs representatives.

Ji Haotian is a junior student at Central South University. In February this year, he co-founded a company with three undergraduate students from the same school to develop and manufacture aluminum electrolytic superheat intelligent identification inspection robots. He introduced that the robot can replace manual work of fixed-point and timed cruise, fire eye video acquisition, etc., and combine image features to complete the judgment of aluminum electrolytic overheat, realizing high-precision dynamic intelligent identification of aluminum electrolytic overheat, thereby cracking the pain points of low automation rate and poor working environment in the aluminum electrolytic industry.

The emergence of entrepreneurial youth like Ji Haotian is closely related to Hunan Province's efforts in multiple policies and strengthening fertile soil for college students' entrepreneurship.

The "Several Policy Measures for Hunan Province to Vigorously Support College Students' Entrepreneurship" issued in 2024 mentions the "seven Ones": implement a number of policies to support college students' entrepreneurship; establish a venture capital fund for college students; build a number of distinctive and powerful entrepreneurial incubation carriers; form an entrepreneurial mentor group composed of well-known entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial experience; offer a series of high-quality college students' entrepreneurship courses in colleges and universities; select a group of innovation and entrepreneurship models for college students; launch a TV program for entrepreneurship competitions, striving to open up the "last mile" serving college students' innovation and entrepreneurship.

The reporter learned from relevant departments in Hunan Province that many investment funds to encourage college students to start businesses have been established, with a total amount exceeding 600 million yuan.

Among them, the total scale of Hunan College Student Venture Capital Fund launched by the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government is 505 million yuan. It adopts the "equity investment" method to support early investment, small investment, long-term investment, and hard technology, and mainly invest in college teachers and students co-creation projects, entrepreneurial projects led by current and fresh university graduates, and help college students and other young groups to accelerate their growth of entrepreneurial projects. According to the plan, the fund supports and incubates at least 100 college student entrepreneurial projects every year.

In order to attract young talents from all over the world, the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League coordinated the "Seven Ones" campus activities in November last year, encouraging college students to start businesses in Hunan. It has successively conducted 26 activities in universities inside and outside the province, radiating to more than 140 universities, attracting more than 50,000 students to participate, more than 400 projects participated in project approval and review, and more than 260 outstanding college student entrepreneurial projects stood out through roadshows and entered the due diligence stage.

During the first stop at Xi'an, more than 300 teachers and students from 20 universities watched the roadshow of six college student entrepreneurship projects in Xi'an on the spot, four of which passed the project review of Hunan College Student Venture Capital Fund.
