AI operating room, digital chimes, bionic fish... This exhibition in Wuhan is full of "fairy technology"

 Xinhuanet Wuhan, May 15th. On the 14th, the 2025 World Digital Education Conference opened in Wuhan. On the first day of the conference, a field visit was specially set up, and a school was selected in the fields of basic education, vocational education, higher education and lifelong education, and through immersive scenarios, how digital technology can reshape the entire chain of "teaching, learning, management, evaluation, and research" education. Among them, Wuhan University, as the observation point of higher education, created an educational feast that integrates digital and intelligence with the theme of "Learning to see new horizons and intelligence in education - Digital and intelligence empowering the new ecology of full-scene integration of higher education".

  The observation exhibition adopts the "4+1" display model, "4": the four major sections are new scenarios of smart education, new concepts of smart education, new infrastructure of smart education, and new paradigms of smart education; "1" is a central interactive area, to demonstrate the teaching changes and innovations that artificial intelligence empowers higher education. The new scene booth of Wuhan University's "AI Operating Room", Wuhan University of Science and Technology's "Intelligent Building Robot Platform", Wuhan University of Science and Technology's "Immersive Performance Teaching Experience of Digital Chime Bells" and Wuhan Conservatory of Music are attracting attention. The new infrastructure booth presents the "Digital Twin Campus" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology's "Data Cockpit", and Central China Normal University's "Xiaoya" platform. The new concepts and new paradigms mainly showcase the unique practices of universities in deepening digital education reform and cultivating future digital talents.

  The facility phenotypic robot displayed in the Smart Horticulture Exhibition Area combines autonomous navigation, A1 vision and robotics technology, and completes the three-dimensional modeling of greenhouse crops, pest identification and growth monitoring and other crop phenotypic data acquisition and analysis based on autonomous navigation and sensing technology.

  The digital chime immersive virtual performance teaching platform uses motion capture, force feedback somatosensory and 3D modeling technology to restore the real experience of chime performance, allowing students to learn in the immersive experience.

  The intelligent surgical collaborative system integrates three imaging devices: CT, magnetic resonance, and DSA to realize real-time three-dimensional image reconstruction during surgery. Doctors can accurately locate lesions and evaluate the effect instantly without interrupting the surgery. At the same time, they are equipped with a 720 high-flexible surgical robot, which breaks through the limit of manpower through millimeter-level robotic arm operation, 3D high-definition vision system and laser positioning technology, and completes complex surgical methods.

  The appearance design of intelligent bionic fish imitates real fish. The torso includes two joints, the head and tail, which can simulate the swimming posture of the fish. Its surface is equipped with LED lights to show dynamic light and shadow effects in the water. It is equipped with obstacle sensors and AI learning functions, which can identify and avoid surrounding obstacles and avoid collisions.

  The "Tianwen" robot is the first humanoid robot of Wuhan University. It is 1.7 meters tall, weighs 65 kilograms and has 36 degrees of freedom. Among them, the skilled hands have up to 7 degrees of freedom. In retail scenarios, it can grab goods from the shelves and submit them to customers accurately; in elderly care facilities, it can hand over water and medicine to the elderly; in medical scenarios, it can assist medical staff in handling medical devices.
