  At the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, the reporter saw that engineers are using the latest version of the embodied algorithm training tool chain that is suitable for mainstream open source frameworks to upgrade the movement capabilities of "Tiangong 2.0". As the world's first humanoid robot to achieve anthropomorphic running with full-size pure electric drive, the maximum running speed of "Tiangong" has been increased to the world's leading 12 kilometers per hour, and can also achieve smooth movement in a variety of complex generalized terrains such as slopes, stairs, and gravel. At the world's first "Man-machine Running" half marathon held not long ago, the "Tiangong Team" won the championship.

  The rapid growth of "Tiangong" is due to its leading open source system of embodied intelligent technology. In fact, open source is becoming a powerful engine that continues to promote breakthroughs in embodied intelligent technologies and coordinated development of industries.

  As a national-level embodied intelligent robot innovation platform, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center has opened source general robot platform "Tiangong", large-scale multi-configured intelligent robot data set and evaluation benchmark "RoboMIND", embodied algorithm training tool chain adapted to mainstream open source frameworks, etc.

  "In terms of ontology, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center has opened key technical materials such as 'Tiangong' software development documents, structural design documents, URDF documents to the industry." Wei Jiaxing, brand leader of the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, introduced that as of now, hundreds of partners have secondary developments for application scenarios based on the "Tiangong" platform, and robot products with great application capabilities such as "Tiangong Xingzhe" have emerged.

  The reporter learned that open source and opening up is becoming a development trend in the embodied intelligent field in China. In terms of hardware and software, the Lingxi X1 of Zhiyuan Robot, the public version of the National and Local Humanoid Robot Innovation Center "Qinglong", Fourier's open source humanoid robot Fourier N1, etc. have also opened ontology resource packages such as hardware design drawings and core algorithms. In terms of data in the core elements of the development of embodied intelligence, Fourier, Zhiyuan Robot, etc. have also opened sourced their respective data sets, including a variety of high-quality training data and scenarios.

  "Under the joint laboratory model, Peking University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other universities have carried out in-depth cooperation with the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in cutting-edge fields such as ontology development and embodied brain to form an innovative closed loop of basic research-technology transformation-industrial applications." Wei Jiaxing introduced that in the future, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center will gradually open source a series of algorithms and tools such as basic reinforcement imitation learning frameworks and basic full-body motion control models around the embodied intelligent full-stack technology ecosystem, and continue to open and maintain more high-quality data sets.

  In addition, as an important part of the open source ecosystem, the construction of embodied intelligent open source communities is also accelerating. The Chongqing Economic Information Commission recently announced the list of project establishments for the "listing and leadership" project in the field of industry and information technology (the first batch of embodied intelligent robots). Among the first 10 projects, "Embroidered Intelligent Open Source Community Construction and Operation" ranked first. The project will integrate six types of functions such as intelligent computing power platform and model-as-a-service platform to form an open ecosystem covering the entire chain of robot research and development. In April this year, the Beijing humanoid robot open source community was officially launched. Through the open sharing of core technologies and R&D resources, it promotes global developers' collaborative innovation, accelerates industry technological breakthroughs, and builds a base platform for talent cultivation, technology iteration and industry implementation for the integration of the embodied intelligent industry.

  "Embolic intelligence open source has become an important route for the development of artificial intelligence worldwide." Zhu Minghao, executive director of the China High-end Manufacturing Research Center of Beijing Jiaotong University, said that the open source route can effectively reduce development costs, support more cross-industry developers to participate in integrated application innovation in scenarios, and can promote the rapid integration of equipment field with artificial intelligence technology. Equipment users can modify and adjust open source models according to their specific needs, quickly adapt to changes in market demand, and promote the development of varieties of embodied intelligent equipment.

  According to the "2025 Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligent Industry Research Report", the global market size will reach 232.6 billion yuan in 2030, and China accounts for more than 44%. For my country's embodied intelligent industry, the open source route will effectively reduce the excessive dependence on foreign closed source software and hardware ecology, form my country's independent embodied intelligent industry chain upstream and downstream integration ecosystem, enhance my country's voice in the international embodied intelligent field, give full play to my country's most comprehensive industrial advantages, "change lanes and overtake" in the integration of key areas, reach the international leading level, and ensure the security of the industrial chain and supply chain.

  "In the future, with the in-depth application of artificial intelligence technology, embodied intelligence will give full play to the advantages of integration of perception, cognition, decision-making and actions, and will operate flexibly in a complex and changeable industrial environment, including medical robots, emergency robots, embodied intelligent space stations, embodied intelligent deep-sea equipment, etc., which will become an important link in the future industry." Zhu Minghao said.

  Zhu Minghao and other industry experts also reminded that it is necessary to pay attention to preventing malicious data utilization and risk leakage caused by open source, strengthen data security management in the field of embodied intelligence, carry out research on standards and laws and regulations in advance, and promote standards to lead embodied intelligence development.
