Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 14 (Reporter Zou Duowei) In the 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between my country and Colombia, the economic and trade exchanges between the two sides have achieved remarkable results. Data released by the General Administration of Customs on the 14th showed that Colombia is my country's fifth largest trading partner in Latin America, and my country has maintained its position as Colombia's second largest trading partner for many years. In 2024, the trade scale of Zhongcouver reached 149.63 billion yuan, an increase of 13.1% year-on-year, exceeding 120 billion yuan for four consecutive years.

  In recent years, China-Colombia bilateral relations have been improved and upgraded, and economic and trade exchanges have become increasingly close. In the first four months of this year, my country's imports and exports to Colombia were 48.34 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year, setting a record high in the same period, and the growth rate was 6.1 percentage points higher than my country's overall import and export.

  As agricultural product cooperation continues to deepen, more Colombian high-quality specialty products have entered the Chinese market, effectively promoting the rapid expansion of China-Colombian trade scale. Today, Colombia has become the third largest import source of coffee and fresh cut flowers in my country. In the first four months, my country imported 470 million yuan of coffee from Colombia, accounting for 14.2% of my country's total coffee import value. During the same period, my country imported 13.601 million yuan of fresh cut flowers from Colombia, an increase of 14.6%, accounting for 10% of my country's total fresh cut flowers import value.
