  Zhu Jingang, deputy director of Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant No. 3, said that this is another excellent achievement after the "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6 won the "double full score" of the World Nuclear Power Operators Association Comprehensive Index and achieved "zero non-stop" for two consecutive years. It once again verified the safety and advanced nature of my country's independent third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong No. 1", and contributed the "Chinese solution" to the global clean energy development.

  The reporter learned from China National Nuclear Corporation that "Hualong No. 1" is a third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power innovation achievement with completely independent intellectual property rights developed by my country based on more than 30 years of nuclear power research, design, manufacturing, construction and operation experience, and its technical indicators have reached the international advanced level. In 2015, the world's first "Hualong No. 1" was settled in Fuqing, Fujian and started construction. In 2022, the "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project will be fully completed.

  According to relevant experts from China National Nuclear Corporation, with the efficient and reliable construction cycle and the independent and controllable industrial chain and supply chain system, "Hualong No. 1" has achieved batch and large-scale construction. Up to now, the total number of units under operation and approved for construction at home and abroad has reached 41, making it the third-generation nuclear power technology with the largest number of units under operation and approved for construction in the world.

  It is understood that the annual power generation of a single unit of "Hualong One" reaches 10 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the annual production and daily electricity needs of the million people in middle-developed countries, equivalent to an equivalent annual carbon dioxide emission reduction of about 8.16 million tons.
