"Allergy Medicine" first Youth Editorial Committee Academic Seminar and Journal Workstation Unveiling Ceremony was held in Chengdu: Jointly Studying a New Path to High-Quality Development of Journals
On April 26, the first Youth Editorial Committee Academic Seminar and the Unveiling Ceremony of the Journal Workstation of Allergy Medicine was held in Chengdu. The conference was co-organized by Chengdu Third People's Hospital, Chengdu Respiratory Health Research Institute and Chengdu Biomedical Information Society. It focuses on the high-quality development path of journals. Taking the establishment of the first Youth Editorial Committee and the unveiling of the journal workstation as an opportunity, it will deeply explore core issues such as journal quality improvement, operational innovation, academic influence expansion and youth editorial committee training, and build wisdom and consensus for the future development of "Allergy Medicine".
As the first English journal in China focusing on the fields of allergies and comorbidities, "Allergy Medicine" has quickly emerged with its cutting-edge academic positioning and strict publishing standards. It was selected as the "New Journal of High Starting Point" in the second issue of the Excellent Journal of the China Association for Science and Technology, becoming a window for my country's allergic medicine to move internationally.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Sun Jinlu, editor-in-chief of the journal, reviewed the journal's founding process with the title "Living Up to the Younger, Setting New Highs", and put forward new expectations in terms of academic influence, editorial quality, publicity strengthening, etc. Elsevier publisher Vanessa Quodt was invited to introduce the operation of the journal and its accession to international authoritative databases. Professor Liu Guanghui, honorary chairman of the Allergy Prevention and Control Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Chen Bin, head of the Youth Editorial Committee, delivered speeches respectively, put forward opinions and suggestions for the high-level construction of the journal.
At the appointment ceremony of the first Youth Editorial Committee, more than 30 interdisciplinary young scholars from Grade A hospitals, universities and scientific research institutions across the country were awarded letters of appointment. The establishment of the Youth Editorial Committee aims to build a multidisciplinary and cross-regional academic new force, and inject innovative vitality into journals through participating in the diverse roles of special manuscript grouping, international manuscript review, popular science communication, etc. During the special report, Dr. Wu Shandong, the Allergy Research Center of Zhejiang University, shared a special report on "Multiomic Research and Testing of Allergies and Mental Diseases" based on the topic of allergies and comorbidities in the journal. Professor Gao Zhongshan, deputy editor-in-chief of the journal, analyzed in detail "How to be a good editorial committee for the middle-aged and young" based on his own experience; Deputy editor-in-chief of Gao Yadong took the operation of the journal's new media as an example to show how to further build a "academic + popular science + publicity" ecosystem.
The conference held a ceremony for the unveiling of the journal workstation. Professor Liu Zaoyang, director of Chengdu Third People's Hospital and director of Chengdu Respiratory Health Research Institute, expressed his full support for the journal workstation to become an important hub connecting allergic medicine researchers and help journals become one of the world's first-class academic platforms. The establishment of this journal workstation marks the official implementation of "Academic Operation Hub" in Chengdu. In the future, it will rely on the regional collaboration network of Chengdu Third People's Hospital/Chengdu Respiratory Health Research Institute and the global empowerment of Elsevier Publishing House to promote the comprehensive improvement of journals from content quality to operational efficiency.
During the free discussion session, members of the Youth Editorial Committee actively spoke, closely focused on the difficulties and innovation paths of journal operations, and reached consensus on topics such as "how to attract high-quality manuscripts", "how to optimize review efficiency by introducing artificial intelligence", "how to promote journal brands", "how to strengthen cooperation with the society", and "how to prepare special topics".
The launch of the Youth Editorial Committee and the implementation of the journal workstation inject new impetus into Allergy Medicine, which is a new milestone in the development of journals. Everyone has a common wish: through unremitting efforts, Allergy Medicine will be among the top platforms in the field of global allergy medicine, which not only provides scholars around the world with a high-quality research publishing base, but also gives international expression to China's original achievements in allergy prevention and treatment, and helps the precise prevention and treatment of allergic diseases in humans.
