On the banks of the Grand Canal, the newly added sponge city project in Tongzhou District - the "Storage Pool + Pump Station" project of Yudaihe Street has completed the main structure construction. After it is officially put into use, the water quality of the Grand Canal can be further improved. The "big balloon" with a sense of technology that is covered on the construction site will be demolished as planned.

  The main structure construction of the "Storage Pool + Pump Station" project on Yudaihe Street is almost all underground. At present, the "underground reservoir" with a capacity of 11,600 cubic meters has been completed. After it is put into use, the rainwater wrapped with sediment and pollutants can be directly used for river landscape water replenishment and vegetation irrigation after being purified by the diversion and sedimentation system, which greatly reduces the number of times that sewage in this area overflows into the river.

  During the construction process, many green construction technologies were applied. The most representative one is the foundation pit air membrane created by China Railway No. 16 Bureau. It is currently the largest of its kind in Beijing, with a length of 165 meters, a width of 80 meters and a height of 37 meters, which is equivalent to the size of three football fields. It completely covers the entire construction site like a "big balloon", solving a series of problems such as dust and noise from the source, and minimizing the impact of construction on residents' lives.

  This "big balloon" is also the first foundation pit gas film in the country that is used in the entire construction cycle. From the start of the project to completion, all construction was completed in the air membrane, and the builders even built a tower crane dozens of meters high in the foundation pit. What is even more surprising is that the foundation pit air membrane can achieve independent forming by using the internal and external air pressure difference and then fixed with an oblique mesh structure. In other words, the "big balloon" is completely blown by a blower, and the internal and external air pressure difference is controlled through intelligent equipment, and the internal does not need to occupy the site to build support beams and columns.

  Guo Leilei, head of the newly added sponge city engineering project department of Tongzhou District, China Railway 16th Bureau, introduced that the "big balloon" is full of technology. The air film film is made of high-density polyethylene material. After three layers of special coating spraying, it has high strength and certain self-cleaning properties, and can effectively resist external damage such as heavy rain, strong winds, and gravel.
